Smith & Company, based in Poplar Bluff, Missouri,
was founded in 1968 and has over 43 people on staff, including
fifteen graduate engineers, two registered land surveyors, and
two graduate geologists. The company also has a branch office
in Cape Girardeau, Missouri staffed with two graduate engineers,
a draftsman, and a civil engineering technician
A unique group of skilled professionals, Smith & Company
is large enough to successfully handle the most difficult and
complex engineering tasks, yet small enough to give every project
the special attention it needs.
Our soil and concrete testing laboratory, complete with two soil/rock
drilling rigs, puts us in the unique position of being able to
provide complete civil engineering services with a minimum of
outside technical support.
We employ the latest technology in all our endeavors. Our surveying
department is currently using the most advanced GPS (Global Positioning
System) and robotic surveying equipment available on the market.
We have three full time CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) draftsmen
on staff and are capable of providing plans on disk, on CD, on
various sizes of print media, and via the Internet.
Our experience in the design and inspection of public works projects
includes airports, streets/roads/drainage, bridges, water
distribution and treatment systems, wastewater collection and
treatment, solid waste management facilities,
industrial parks, and environmental remediation projects.
Services are applied in various combinations to serve our clients
in the most economically advantageous way. These same services
provide a foundation for assisting our clients in putting together
long-range plans and provide the infrastructure to meet the ever
changing needs of the public.
